LFS, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This signature fashion store for the heart of Victoria Island is supposed to also accommodate a nail studio, café and apartments. The intention is to create a destination which expresses vibrant African fashion and Lagos as the hub of this movement.

The gele, a staple of African fashion represents style, eccentricity, affordability, identity and expression. We tried to represent these traits by the way we clad the building. Expanded metal fragments, cut to mimic the segments of the ‘gele’ when tied, surround the building in a strategically placed arrangement, allowing glimpses of the building behind.
